APPLE BUTTER & RED WINE ONION ROLLS
Ingredients
1 cup Red Wine Onions
2 tbsp Fresh Thyme Leaves
1/2-2/3 cup Apple Butter
1 1/2 cups Aged Gouda, grated
1 tsp Flaky Sea Salt
instructions:
Mix dough according to the instructions and preheat the oven to 400° F.
Spread dough evenly in a rectangle over a piece of floured parchment paper. I used a rolling pin. Just make sure it’s floured.
Spread apple butter evenly over dough. Top with onions, thyme, cheese, and sea salt. Optional: cooked mushrooms and arugula are also a tasty addition.
Roll up the dough and cut it into slices. Place in an 8x8 or 9x9 pan. There should be around 6 rolls. Let them proof covered for 15-20 minutes until puffy. Lightly oil the tops of the rolls. Optional: topping with extra cheese.
Once proofed, bake for about 20-25 minutes. Let cool slightly and enjoy immediately or rep-warm for another time
